Be Responsible! Be Respectful! ![]() Important DatesImportant Dates ![]() Spring Activities in the ClassroomWe are busy in Mrs. Asbill's first grade classroom as we begin the 2011-2012 school year! Our first weeks are filled with review of Kindergarten skills and practicing good behavior as we talk about rules and procedures for all areas of our school. We are also launching the Daily 5 which will be implemented throughout the school. Daily 5 center activities teach students to be independent and to spend more time with books. We will also begin guided reading groups soon! I look forward to a positive, productive and fun filled year!
![]() About the TeacherMy name is Gail Riley Asbill and I begin this school year with 30 years of experience. I am a graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School and Winthrop University. I received National Board Certification in 2002 and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction:Technology in 2008. I am proud to say that my husband, my sons, and myself have all attended Lexington School District Three schools! We have grown up in this community and most of our families live here as well. My husband, Al, and I have two sons. T.J. is a Senior at Clemson University. Jake is a tenth grader at Batesburg-Leesville High School. We have also adopted a very large and clumsy dog named Riley.
